Mint Spring Smoothie Base With Seed DS-01® Daily Synbiotic

Vegan and Gluten Free Friendly

Obtaining a healthy gut encompasses a lot of things, but one way I’ve been optimizing mine for the last 3 years is by taking a high-quality, scientifically formulated synbiotic (a prebiotic and probiotic in one). To celebrate Spring and Digestive Health Month, I’m partnering with Seed to share seasonal foods that support a health gut microbiome. Digestion is personal to me as there once was a time when I was intolerant to 96 ingredients, due to the state my gut was in.

Mint is a seasonal herb that’s enriched in caffeic acid, a compound synthesized by all plant species and has anti-inflammatory properties amongst others. Here’s a delicious minty smoothie recipe that serves as a base that you can build upon. Making it highly customizable for any craving.

Ingredients

Serves 1
1 cup frozen cauliflower

1 frozen banana

1 cup unsweetened soy milk (or plant milk of choice)

1/2 cup frozen spinach

2 tbsp chia seeds

2 tbsp cacao nibs (pulsed at the end) + more for garnish

1-2 tsp inulin powder (depends on how well you tolerate fiber)

A handful of mint leaves

A pinch of flakey sea salt +more for garnish

Method

Place all the ingredients except for the cacao nibs in a high speed blender.

Blend until smoothie reaches your desired consistency. You can aways add more water to thin it out.

Once blended, add in the cacao nibs and lightly pulse for a few seconds.

Pour and top with more cacao nibs and flakey sea salt. Enjoy!
