If you’re anything like me, you might be in denial about summer coming to an end. The Ginger People so kindly gifted me their Turmeric Latte Mix which gave me an idea to make a layered iced latte to kiss summer goodbye. And yes, I'm fully aware it's October but it's still slightly warm on the West Coast. What I love about this mix besides the zesty flavor is that it’s caffeine-free and that they packed in great ingredients into such a small packet. What’s included? Arenga palm sugar which is made from the sap of the Arenga palm tree, and is a great alternative to refined sugar. This latte mix also includes elephant ginger (1,000 mg), java turmeric (756mg) + 2.8mg of curcumin which was inspired by a traditional Indonesian remedy used in Jamu medicine.

This recipe serves two and requires a tiny bit of patience for the layering, but I promise it’s easy and oh so satisfying.

Ingredients

Layer One

a handful of raspberries (frozen or fresh)

a handful of ice cubes

Layer Two

1 packet of Turmeric Latte Mix

6oz of cold filtered water

Layer Three

a handful of raspberries (frozen or fresh)

1/4 cup milk of choice (I used coconut)

Method

For the first layer, take a handful of raspberries and muddle them in a bowl or large cup. Once you’ve muddled the raspberries, divide them into two glasses, and pour a handful of ice cubes on top.

For the second layer, take a single packet of the Turmeric Latte Mix and combine it with 6oz of cold filtered water. Blend on high for 30 seconds. Pour into a separate glass or vessel that has a pour spout.

For the third layer, take another handful of raspberries and combine it with 1/4 cup milk of choice. Blend on high for another minute. Set aside.⠀ ⠀

It’s layer time! Take your muddled raspberries that’s been divided into two cups add in the second layer (the latte mix) until it’s about 3/4 of the way filled. Then grab the raspberry milk (the final layer) and divide between the two glasses. I truly feel like this is a perfect blend of summer and fall in a cup, enjoy!
